Here we go again.
These words on a media channel crawler concerning tension between Turkey and Syria caught my attention.
“Does the military lack the muscle?”
Obviously, someone is trying to “stir it up”, to quote Patti LaBelle.
I can just imagine arms and munitions producers and sellers wetting themselves, as they dream of sales and bonuses, which could flow from Turkey strengthening its military and, even better, a real war.
Clausewitz wrote that war is policy by other means. That may have been the case in his day, but now conflict is big business. And, policy makers know on which side their bread is buttered.
