I recognise a potential for the biggest case ever of unintended consequences...
I read where a White female politician stated that the recent Supreme Court crime against humanity is a “big win for White Life”.
I don’t have concrete numbers, but I tend to think more Black women sought abortions than White women. Now that abortions have been banned, there will be a huge increase in Black children filling already crowded neighbourhoods. And, crimes rates, which declined after abortions were legalised, will climb again. Who will be victims? The White life winners.
Congratulations to the geniuses aka Republicans, Evangelicals Christians, etc.
Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Request for Pardon Rejected After She Spelled It “Parton”
By Andy Borowitz
WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—The Trump White House rejected Marjorie Taylor Greene’s e-mail request for a pardon after she spelled it “parton,” new reports indicate.
According to evidence obtained by the January 6th committee, the White House chief of staff, Mark Meadows, was perplexed by Greene’s entreaty, believing that it referred to the legendary singer-songwriter Dolly Parton.
Meadows reportedly could not understand how Parton, whose extensive catalogue of hit songs includes “Jolene” and “9 to 5,” could be of assistance to Greene, and therefore he deleted the e-mail.
Having received no response, a frantic Greene e-mailed the White House requesting clemency, which she spelled as “clementine.”
Speaking to reporters at the Capitol, Greene flatly denied sending the panicked e-mails. “I was never worried about going to prism,” she said.
Ah, yes, the truth has been revealed for all the world to see.
The Land Of The Free…if you are a White man with a Gun, and
The Home Of The Brave…if you accept jail for expressing an opinion.
For fans of history, this is a great time to be alive: they can experience life in the Dark Ages.
We always knew that politicians were beholden to the gun lobby. Now, the Supreme Court has also proven that it has been bought. But, they are also beholden to the religious fanatics. The United States is becoming like Iran, only with a different set of priests running the show. Religious war is inevitable.
When you think nothing more stupid could happen in the least-favourite state, another item turns up from Texas. Republicans have voted to move to secede from the Unites States. Great idea. Let them go. Good riddance. This will give another Republican state the chance to have the biggest idiots for politicians. Plenty of candidates are in the wings.
The shooting of school children in Texas has proven to the world what should have been evident: heavily armed police are good at stopping and killing unarmed Black men, but worthless at protecting children from guns.
You can arm men to the teeth, but you can't give them a backbone.
And the greed rolls on…
I see that Kellogg’s is planning to split the company into three separate companies. The only reason to do this is to enrich a few managers, the investment bank handling the IPO, and hedge funds.
This got me thinking. I wonder what Karl Marx would write, if he were alive.
I have not read Das Kapital (I should, because it continues to cause a stir). I believe he complains about how workers were treated and the tyranny of capitalist. Nothing and/or little has changed, except that the rules made by politicians favour capitalist even more. (No, I am not a communist.)
Inflation is increasing, causing a drastic rise in cost of living for the little people. Governments are making adjustments to aid corporations, shareholders, hedge funds, and banks, but nothing help those suffering.
What would Karl have to say about that?
Visiting some place different can be interesting, fun, and enlightening. Getting there, on the other hand, is none of the above, with the possible exception of the last. And air travel is the worst option. I think I’d rather stay home.
The airport “experience” has become a nightmare, even for those fortunate enough to afford business or first class seats. Some lines are shorter, but not all. Baggage handling favours no one. One is forced to witness the suffering of people in the cheap seats at each step of the way, until in one’s seat and after deplaning. And, the entire time, one is made to feel guilty of something, but have no idea what that could be.
