A headline spotted in Salon:
Confused senator attempts to publish column in Communist
newspaper from distant past
John McCain embarrasses himself in the Russian press by submitting
an editorial to an online conspiracy site
And, this is a key conclusion:
“If McCain’s mission was to prove that the United States is run by solipsistic buffoons who don’t even try to understand anything about the rest of the world before they go blundering out shouting hypocritical nonsense about freedom, well, mission accomplished. Way to make Putin look like a wise and prudent statesman, senator.”
Can you imagine what the world would be like if this clown had become president?
And we’re supposed to respect politicians...
There’s a saying about familiarity breeding contempt. This is certainly true, when one learns more about politicians. When I was younger, I must have been told to respect senators and congressmen. With increased awareness of reality, brought on by experience, book learning, and increased media exposure, these yahoos have lost any justification for respect. I am sure that one or two are honorable men among the greedy, self-serving lot, but the institution has become tarnished in my mind and surely the minds of many, if one is to believe surveys.
