While scanning the daily newspapers, it struck me that I like more female than male columnists. Taking that thought further, I realized that I like more female vocalists than male singers. It is different with books, but I also like many women authors (I just finished The Paris Wife, by Paul McLain). It cannot be wired-by-nature sexual attraction, because I have never met or even seen photos of most of these women, whose work I admire.
Going down the list of other categories in which men and women compete for attention, I find mixed results (Is that another bad pun?). For example, I have eaten in more top flight restaurants with a male chef and enjoy more male comedians, but perhaps only because there are more.
This is not a subject about which I will give much more thought, and it was probably hardly worth the time to write about. Sorry, if you wasted your time reading it...unless it provokes thought about your own likes.
