nb. * That's English. Look it up
When I spotted this headline in the Daily Mail, I knew immediately that this was a clear sign of God’s displeasure. He doesn’t think the guy should be a saint...or doesn’t believe in the concept. I agree!
That's a bad sign: 100ft crucifix built in honour of John Paul II collapses and crushes a man to death just two days before he is declared a saint
Protocol at international events is always mystery to outsiders. One gets a flavor of this when watching a royal event in England: arrival order, seating plan, who gets to ride in carriage, a car, or a bus, etc.
I could not avoid a few minutes of the show in Rome today, when “dignitaries” from around the world showed up to have their photo taken with an old man shrouded in white. What surprised me was the order of people standing in line. The president of Argentina came first, since she has fought with the guy in the past; the president of Italy followed, since the Vatican is illegally parked in his country; the king of Belgium--Belgium--was next. I cannot figure out Belgium’s importance to the Catholic Church, a county no one would miss if it floated off into the Atlantic Ocean and disappeared. An even bigger surprise was the next supplicant: Prince Albert of Monaco. Perhaps, all the cardinals keep their fortunes in that tax haven. Who knows why this clown precedes the great nations of the world. It can’t be the number of worshippers in all those luxury apartments. The “royal” family is Catholic, but most, if not all, members have sinned in many ways. Just read the tabloids. The guy has spent a lot of time at confession.
After that, I switched off. Watching bowing and scraping is not my idea of entertainment.
One stupid, old man will be replaced by.....another stupid, old man. Or not...
Take sides. Choose your favorite radical view…
"Raising your children as Roman Catholics is worse than child abuse…"
"Gay marriage is one of several threats to the traditional family unit that undermines 'the future of humanity itself', Pope Benedict XVI warned yesterday."
The most-revered scientific authority this world has ever known has passed judgement, so it must true...
The Vatican has announced that a recently discovered piece of papyrus, which reveals that some Jewish guy, who allegedly lived 2000 years ago, had a wife, is fake. Of course, they have confirmed that the Shroud of Turin is genuine...so that rag must be. This the same bunch of yahoos that ex-communicated Michelangelo...and have not broadened their horizons or revised their thinking since then. Did I mention that many molest children and are protected from prosecution? Or that only paying members are welcome, just like any blood-sucking cult? Or that they leaders plunder the coffers to enjoy a lavish lifestyle? And. And. And.
NB. I should have known this, but I just realized that the root of papal is pap. That explains a lot...
Once again, Hadley has hit a few nails on their heads.
An excerpt from one sentence illustrates the hypocrisy, which is only interested in money...
“Since Mitt Romney makes $600,000 a year investing in companies that manufacture the contraceptives he now seems to abhor, I'll leave it up to you to decide which camp he falls into.”
It will be interesting to learn how effective stupid old men will be in dictating to American women.
And, if that’s not weird enough for you, try this:
Which was written by a nice Catholic girl...
