An item about topless photos some English girl probably did not make much, if any, stir outside England. For some, this is about naked photos; for me, this is a case of powerful people demanding a double standard.
The royal family flaunt their faces to “sell” England/Britain, yet complain if some publication publishes a photo they don’t like. All photos must be of prim and proper "dames", preferably flaunting English designers. These people manipulate the media for their own benefit and in hopes of justifying of entitlement. In England, they have managed to pass laws to protect their unjust privileges and are now trying to cow foreign media.
Every second--if not more--woman in France sunbathes without a top. This practice is unremarkable. Only the English, Americans, and other prudes become upset by the sight of female breasts.
If the “palace” had not caused a storm about some grainy photo, which few would want to see, no one would pay much attention to an insignificant French magazine. Once again, they hope to use feigned outrage to reap a benefit for themselves in publicity and sympathy. From me, they will receive no sympathy and continued contempt.
I find no difference between English media gushing over Katherine Middleton or Victoria Beckham. On the surface, one might think that the former is more intelligent and has a better PR machine, but I wonder...
