This is not for anyone that wants to be cheerful today or for the kind of person that turns a blind eye.
But, for all you manic-depressives, the following article (once again in the Guardian) is just what you need. I read Nickel and Dimed when it came out years ago and was appalled. According to its author, things have gotten worse in the United States.
Once again, I risk being labeled “a goddam communist”, but am merely trying to point out the glaringly obvious. I do not want to overthrow the government; I simply do not want the ruling elite to destroy the country. And, I do have a bit of empathy.
