_ People like to complain about being ignored. I’m sure that all have heard someone whine “You never call me.” It’s always about them.
I have a simple response. I explain, as I would to a dim child, that the telephone works in two directions. One can make calls, as well as receive calls.
If someone wants to hear from me, before I get around to calling, then it is a simple matter of picking up the phone and calling. I will be happy to speak with anyone that makes the effort. Sometime, I might even make a call...
Of course, I have been known to use the above phrase (What’s a little hypocrisy between friends?), when wishing to harass my children. I do not expect to be called, but do like to make them feel guilty of neglect.
