Many people seem to be enlivened by news of the death of Bin Laden (first name Obama, according to Fox News), but there is one amorphous group that must be particularly pleased. Anyone wishing that the world will be too preoccupied to notice their skulduggery will be happy that the media is enamored of this story. Politicians must be particularly overjoyed, because they can ply their naughty trade with impunity (from words, anyway).
One couple that is surely also be pleased is the newlyweds in the UK, now safely ensconced on a military base in the wilds of Wales. They must not rue being bumped so quickly from the front pages of the world's newspapers and being dropped by the 24-hour news channels. If rapid photographers were not lurking at every turn, they could probably even slip off to honeymoon.
Unfortunately, there is also a group that is not overly happy about the news from Pakistan. One people's villain is another's hero, so the cycle of revenge must continue.
The press will always have plenty to fill there pages and broadcast minutes...
