_ All governments waste taxpayers’ money, but few do it in such a blatantly ridiculous manner. Once again, the English have proved how gullible they are.
Taxpayers are being fleeced to pay for the antics of one of those worthless princes, which the country is wont to support. From media reports, “Prince” Andrew is cavorting in Davos and environs to “boost British commerce”. He is allegedly staying in a villa costing 40,000 (a lot in any currency) and meeting with such important personages as the president of Uzbekistan.
Other countries do not need to splurge on such characters to boost trade. Germany, the leading industrial power in Europe (okay England refuses to join that club) manages very well, thank you, without a “prince”. German business leaders manage to meet the right people without funding the expensive lifestyle of a worthless middle man. But, I guess it’s a good racket, if you can pull it off. But, not everyone has a mommy to get him a job and keep him in it when others point out his deficiencies.
Fail Britannia. The empire might have wilted and died (or is still dying), but the head will be the last to fade into the sunset...because people are foolish enough to pay for symbols of past glories (and atrocities).
