_ Politicians are so full of themselves (especially British ones) and even more so when trying to impress their domestic audience. I noticed the following headline in today’s Independent.
Cameron to push Germany for decisive end to European crisis
First of all, who cares what a British prime minister thinks, especially considering that the British have cold-shouldered the European Union since its inception in 1956? A brief glance at British history would suggest that no one pay any attention.
Next, does this guy not realize that Germany does not run the show? The country may be successful, powerful, and wealthy (all the things England used to be), but no one will let the Germans rule them (I seem to recall a slight altercation concerning this topic in the 1940s.)
It is interesting to note how various government leaders like to prod leaders of other governments to make changes, which they are neither willing nor able to make in their own countries.
And, as always, it’s all about money....
