The fool on the hill sees the sun going down...
Fool, yes; hill, no--but on the 11th floor. To celebrate escaping the hospital (it felt like a convict walking out of prison with his meager belongings to a waiting car), I offer the promised view to the west. Quality is not great, because the photo was taken with an iPhone. Sorry, best I could do. If one looks closely, the Frankfurt skyline is visible on the horizon directly below the setting sun.
For history buffs and anyone interested in irrelevant facts, the distance is about the same as the nearest the Germans managed to fight their way to Moscow during WWII. I've passed the monument marking the spot many times, luckily having an easier ride than folks in the 40's. I'm sure that it irks some Germans, that the French made it all the way...even if they suffered equal humiliation in the end.
