I am not the smartest person in the world, therefore I am unable understand Republican politicians (or people that vote for them, even though it is not in their best interest).

Once again, Gail Collins points out the foolish, short-sighted policies of another Republican. The future looks bleak for Texas. They are breeding stupid people, so I might move up in the rankings.
Someday, perhaps after it's too late, citizens of "God's country" will figure out that things have to be paid for and that was why the same God invented taxes. I hate taxes as much as anyone (and live in a country with perhaps the highest in the universe), but I also understand that things cost money. I'm happy that I don't have to raise a family in Texas (that opinion is in no way affected by the fact that I hated living there for two years).
