I wrote a few days ago speculating about the possibility of India and the United States switching places. The following article gives some evidence to that theory.
It is a very disturbing article for anyone that has grown up in the United States and enjoyed opportunities easily available in the past. I cannot imagine having to endure such a fate. What do you tell your children? I could handle personal hardship and sacrifice, but I could not endure having to deny basics to my family and watching them suffer. People that grow up in poverty suffer, but they do not suffer the additional burden of loss and knowledge of what comfort can be like.
I have always been disturbed by the sight of homeless people in the United States. I pity these poor people.
